Friends of Dudley Castle Meetings
Meetings are held at 7:30pm on the last Thursday of the month for members of The Friends of Dudley Castle and their guests only. Prospective members and guests are welcome, but will be asked to pay a small charge. Below is a list of the upcoming dates, locations and guest speakers.
Meetings are usually held at The White House, 10 Ednam Road, Dudley, DY1 1JX (map) except in summertime when they are held in the Castle Undercroft. On these occasions, access is via Fellows Gate, which will be opened at 7:25pm to allow all cars to go through at the same time.
A new film has been produced about the life of ‘Mary, Queen of Scots’, starring Margot Robbie (Elizabeth I), Saoirse Ronan (Mary) and David Tennant. The historian John Guy’s book has been used as the source material for this film and there is a historical link to Dudley castle as it was viewed as a possible home for Mary while she was held captive in this country.
Cost: £7.00 per person payable in advance, we would need guaranteed 20 persons for us to go ahead.
Cost: £22 per person (coach only) plus optional £16.50 for entrance to cabinet war rooms. Leave Ednam Road 8.00am to return by 8.00pm
30th birthday party at The Lodge, Wellington Road, Dudley. 7:00pm to be seated by 7:30pm for carvery meal plus surprises. Further details to be confirmed.
